Smile of Hope, the dental hygiene practice of Esther Kim Le, offers traveling dental hygiene services throughout Orange County. According to the 2015 National Center for Health Statistics, one in four seniors in California — over 1.37 million people — have lost all of their teeth. Additionally, the CDC reports that from 2016 to 2021, there was about a 10% decrease in the percentage of low-income children and adolescents (ages 1–17) receiving preventive dental care in the past year.
Our mission is to build lasting, rewarding relationships with patients by providing accessible care wherever it is needed — at home, in nursing homes, school-based programs, or for patients with special healthcare needs.
We provide a relaxing and comfortable environment for patients of all ages, including:

At Smile of Hope, we understand the challenges patients face in achieving optimal oral health and are committed to making dental care accessible, compassionate, and personalized for every individual and family we serve.
No referral necessary!
We incorporate teledentistry services, where specially trained hygienists visit the site and collaborate with a remote dentist using a secure cloud-based electronic dental record (EDR) system. Onsite dentist services may also be available depending on scheduling and patient needs.
Smile of Hope provides dental hygiene service directly to the patient in their most comfortable environment We take great pride in helping our patients to achieve a healthy smile and to reach the best possible outcome. Our patients can expect honesty, sincerity and caring.
Smile of Hope will work with patient personal dentist, primary physician, specialist, caregivers, and family to develop daily care plans to promote oral health. If you do not currently have a dentist, we can assist by providing referrals to dental providers based on your individual needs and location.
ABOUT ME
Esther Kim Le, DA, BSDH, RDHAP
Esther K. Le has over 24 years of experience in the dental field. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from New York University College of Dentistry and furthered her education at the University of the Pacific through the Program in Oral Health for People with Special Needs at the Pacific Center for Special Care. She also obtained her Registered Dental Hygienist in Alternative Practice (RDHAP) license.
Esther is specially trained and licensed by the Dental Board of California to administer dental anesthetics, perform soft tissue curettage, provide nitrous oxide sedation, participate in the Virtual Dental Home model, place interim therapeutic restorations, and make radiographic decisions.
She enjoys working with patients of all ages, including individuals with special healthcare needs. Esther has volunteered in free clinics, providing preventive care in underserved areas and delivering oral health education to communities. She is passionate about educating patients on the importance of dental care and understands that many individuals experience dental anxiety. With compassion and patience, she helps guide patients toward improved oral health. In addition, she has built strong professional relationships with a network of dentists to ensure her patients receive comprehensive treatment when needed.
Leadership and Community Outreach
Esther previously served as Director of Field Operations for a large nonprofit pediatric dental organization in Orange County through collaborative programs centered on prevention, outreach and education, access to treatment, and advocacy. Following a merger, she transitioned into the role of Director of Outreach and School-Based Programs at a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), mission of eliminating healthcare disparities and promoting health equity by removing barriers to care. Through these combined efforts, thousands of children and families received essential dental services who might not otherwise have had access to treatment where she continued expanding mobile and community-based dental initiatives.
In these leadership roles, she oversaw multidisciplinary teams delivering care in elementary and junior high schools, community sites, and pediatric medical clinics. Her work incorporated innovative care models such as teledentistry, mobile dentistry, telehealth, and medical–dental integration in non-traditional settings. Her work has consistently focused on expanding access to care for children and families, including those with special healthcare needs.
These programs were designed to increase access to preventive and restorative dental care for children and families, particularly those with limited access to services. Through these efforts, thousands of patients received essential dental care aligned with each organization’s mission to reduce health disparities and promote health equity.
COLLABORATE WITH DENTAL PROVIDERS
We work closely with your existing medical and dental providers to support continuity of care. Smile of Hope Dental Hygiene Practice also collaborates with trusted dental specialists who share our commitment to serving communities with limited access to care through compassion and excellence.
When services are outside the RDHAP scope of practice, we collaborate with or refer to dental providers and community partners using a community health model similar to FQHC programs, ensuring patients have access to appropriate restorative and comprehensive treatment.
Dr. Ho Hoang Viet, DDS
Medical & Dental Advisor
Dr. Ho Hoang Viet received his medical education in Virginia at the Medical College of Virginia prior to attending the University of Southern California School of Dentistry on a U.S. Army scholarship. He has extensive training and experience across both medicine and dentistry, with a background in surgical care, trauma management, and comprehensive dental services.
Throughout his career, Dr. Viet has served in a variety of clinical and high-acuity environments, including trauma and surgical care settings, implant dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, emergency military dentistry, and international humanitarian pediatric dental programs. His military service includes providing emergency dental care in challenging field environments.
Dr. Viet brings a broad and unique clinical perspective to patient care, combining medical and dental knowledge to manage complex cases and provide comprehensive treatment planning. He is known for his compassionate approach and commitment to treating each patient with respect, dignity, and individualized care.
Dr. Viet provides a range of dental services to patients requiring advanced clinical expertise and complex care management.
Dr. Minh Tri Nguyen, DDS
General Dentist
Dr. Minh Tri Nguyen received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Temple University School of Dentistry and has been in private practice for over 10 years. He provides comprehensive dental care to patients in Orange County, with extensive experience in family and cosmetic dentistry.
Dr. Nguyen is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a comfortable and modern clinical environment. He focuses on creating long-term patient relationships and helping individuals achieve healthy, confident smiles.
He has also served in both nonprofit and private practice settings, providing restorative care, treatment planning, oral health education, and patient-centered dental services for adult and pediatric patients.

When additional treatment is needed, we assist in connecting patients to a dental home, ensuring continuity of care beyond preventive services.

HOW IT WORKS
1) Request a Visit: Email smileofhopedhp@gmail.com or submit a request below for mobile dental hygiene services for
yourself, your family, or your organization.
2) Registration Packet: We will send you a registration packet, which includes a welcome packet, health history forms,
and consent forms. Please complete and return the forms at your earliest convenience.
3) Clinical Review & Care Planning: A dentist will review the health history and determine whether additional information
is needed from the patient’s primary care provider.
The dentist may request and review any X-rays or intraoral photos and will recommend a treatment plan based on the patient’s
needs.
Preventive services will be provided by a Registered Dental Hygienist in Alternative Practice (RDHAP) within their professional
scope of practice. Any treatment beyond dental hygiene services may be completed by a licensed dentist on-site or through
referral under their business entity.
4) Schedule Your Visit: After we receive your completed registration packet, we will reach out to you to schedule your visit at a

FEES, INSURANCE, PAYMENT INFORMATION
Fees
We provide fee transparency prior to treatment. Costs vary based on location, services provided, and individual patient needs. Please contact us for a personalized estimate. Fees are subject to change.
Payment
All dental hygiene services are due on the day of service unless prior arrangements have been made. Your treatment plan, including any diagnosis or findings made by the DDS or RDHAP, will include a clear breakdown of all applicable fees. We will notify you of all costs prior to treatment. Payment is required before services are provided.
If You Have Dental Insurance
SHDHP use standard and customary fees. If you have private dental insurance (PPO) , We’ll provide a superbill for you to submit to your dental insurance for possible reimbursement.
